Bakugan Evolutions is the name of the 4th Season of the Bakugan Reboot. On 13th October 2021, Corus Entertainment (the parent company for Nelvana) announced that Bakugan Evolutions will be starting in early 2022 in Canada, and will have 26 x 22 minute episodes, the same as for Geogan Rising.
So how does this compare to the previous seasons of Bakugan? Well, let’s take a look:
- Season 1: Bakugan Battle Planet (100 episodes of 2 x 11 minutes) = 200 x 11 min episodes
- Season 2: Bakugan Armored Alliance (104 episodes of 2 x 11 minutes) = 208 x 11 min episodes
- Season 3: Bakugan Geogan Rising (26 episodes of 2 x 11 minutes) = 52 x 11 min episodes
- Season 4: Bakugan Evolutions (26 episodes of 2 x 11 minutes) = 52 x 11 min episodes
As you can see, the episode count has dropped significantly since Geogan Rising (Season 3). However, if they can avoid the exorbitant number of filler episodes (as was in Geogan Rising), hopefully we can get a more fulfilling season in 2022.
Synopsis for Bakugan Evolutions:
In Bakugan: Evolutions, fan-favourite Bakugan heroes – including Drago, Trox, Pegatrix, Hydorous, Howlkor and Pharol – return stronger, faster and better than ever!
Here it tells us the main cast of Bakugan from Season 1 is coming back!! (Hooray!)
Strange occurrences begin to happen in the new action-packed season; elemental energy from Vestroia is seeping into Earth, creating strange phenomena and causing Bakugan to rage out with excess energy!
It’s not all bad though, as our heroes realize the Vestroian elemental energy is also causing elemental evolutions among our Bakugan! Along with these new evolutions comes a new breed of elemental brawlers, propelling the Awesome Brawlers to adapt and in effect, take Bakugan brawling to a whole new level, unlocking even more awesome powers and evolutions!
Once again, the fate of two worlds, Earth and Vestroia, rests in the hands of the Awesome Brawlers and their Bakugan partners.
We have already seen some of the toys, which I will talk about later. Most of them have strange lines covering their bodies, as can be seen in the images below. I believe these are the representation of the elemental energy mentioned. However, we cannot confirm this until Bakugan Evolution starts airing.
Now, let me talk about the Toy listing. I recently got the Bakugan Evolutions checklist after unboxing the platinum toys. Here it is.
First off, you’ll notice there are a number of changes from the previous seasons’ checklists.
- There are no boxes to indicate what faction / types (e.g. Haos, Aurelus, etc) the Bakugan will be coming in. Usually in past seasons, there will be an indication what colors the Bakugan will come in, though some of the time, it really isn’t that accurate.
- There is an introduction of new types of variants, a) Prisma which is part of this new ALL-FACTIONS faction, b) Platinum Bakugan which is made of TRUE METAL
- New type of toys called Nanogan!
- Geogan seem to be returning this season!
- A lot of molds from past seasons are being reused here
- The color schemes have changed quite significantly as well.
The following information is just my guess, and can only be confirmed after the products are out. Looking through this list as well as other information, so far I can segregate the list into the following types of toys:
- Nanogan (small b1-like sized toys)
- PLATINUM Bakugan (with TRUE METAL bodies)
- COLORED Metal Body, with Translucent Parts [Platinum Series]
- COLORED Metal Body, with Opaque Parts [Platinum Power Up Series]
- SILVER Metal Body, with Opaque/Translucent Parts [Battle Strike Packs]
- Bakugan (Normal)
- Ultra Single
- Core Single
- Geogan (non-ball)
Of course, there are also the DIAMOND and ELEMENTAL variants.
Also in this checklist, they did not include the new Cosplay Cubbos and Mythic Bakugan (which are translucent molds of the Battle Planet – Season 1 releases).
NEW BAKUGAN SO FAR
Here are the list of the new Bakugan (for Bakugan Evolutions) seen thus far:
- Blitz Fox
- Colossus
- Griswing
- Warrior Whale
- Sectanoid
- Dragonoid Evo
- Neo Dragonoid
- Neo Pegatrix
- Leonidas
Not a very long list, considering all the Bakugan shown in this checklist. Also all Nanogan are new.
Overall, this will be a very messy year for collectors, since the toys have actually changed quite significantly.
Anyway, that’s it from me today. See you in my next post.
Is Evolutions really airing somewhere next month in February? If so, where’s the proof?
Will Lancer be confirmed as Pharol’s Nanogan soon?
This Bakugan Academy is a huge step for the AB on this Miracle Planet. Maybe will be part of an arc.
Who will be the main villain for this season?
One question regard the third season of bakugan, in particular the toys for dragonoid: why spin master didn’t release a ventus toy for drago to have all 6 faction, plus a diamond evolution and elemental release?
For season 4, are they going to make dragonoid for all forms, I mean 6 forms for cores (diamond as well), platinum series(elemental platinum dragonoid) and other evolutions?
