Zenthon Titan / EV Neo Hydorous & My 3D Scanner

I recently received the Zenthon Titan Mechtogan, and out of sheer boredom, decided to use my very much neglected 3D scanner and performed a 3D scan of the Zenthon Titan toy.

In total, I performed just 2 passes, one front to back 360 degree rotation, and another head to toe 360 degree rotation. For those interested in the details, it was a 12 interval with texture capture turned on.

And lo and behold, here are the results!!! I must say I am impressed!! Even tuned down to low quality, it looks pretty good for a 20 min scan

Here is the Zenthon Titan model that have been uploaded to SketchFab. After that I tried using the ActorCore Accurig tool to perform auto rigging of the model, and it actually worked pretty well. Not sure how else I can proceed with this, but it was quite fun to play with.

I’ve also been flirting with the idea of putting embedded 3D models on this website, though realistically it is very intensive to perform the scan. And SketchFab only allows 10 free uploads a month, so I am still hesitant to implement this idea.

Also to test how a proper Bakugan scan, I did a EV Neo Hydorous 3D scan since it was lying on my table, and it had some parts which were quite hidden. This required 3 passes to capture it properly.

Overall it’s still quite costly in terms of effort and time, and I just only barely into updating the information for my Bakugan Library, so this will probably be in the back burner for a while

Anyway, this has just been a pretty long rant. Kudos to you if you are still here.

Thanks for your attention! I’ll see you in the next post!
